Oboist and pianist Adam Weinmann hails from Vancouver Island, Canada, where he received his BMus with Distinction from the University of Victoria. He received his MFA in oboe performance from the California Institute of the Arts in 2008, under the auspices of the Richard Colburn Scholarship in Music. While living on the West Coast, Adam played with the Victoria Youth Orchestra, the Victoria Chamber Orchestra, The Gabriola Island Chamber Ensemble and at the San Juan Island Chamber Music Festival. As a winner of the 2005 UVic Concerto Competition, Adam performed the Donizetti Concertino for English horn with the UVic Orchestra.
As a CalArts student, Adam played with the New Century Players and New Millenium Ensemble in performances at the RedCat theatre in LA and was heavily involved in the CalArts Baroque program. Adam studied oboe with Alexandra Pohran Dawkins and Allan Vogel, and while at CalArts, he delved into keyboard studies with harpsichordist Patricia Mabee and pianist Anna Grinberg.
 
 
After completing his studies, Adam moved to Toronto to work as a freelance oboist and collaborative musician. He has since played with the Canadian Sinfonietta, Esprit Orchestra, Toronto Chamber Choir, the National Ballet Orchestra, the Brott Festival Orchestra, the Sudbury Symphony, the Toronto Sinfonietta, the Oakville Chamber Ensemble, the Thunder Bay Symphony, the Ontario Philharmonic and the Sinfonia Toronto. 
Adam maintains a private studio in his home, and has taught oboe for St. Michael's College School. He also works as a facilitator for Sound in Film Workshops at the TIFF Lightbox. He has given oboe clinics in various schools throughout Toronto and has worked as an artist educator for the Canadian Opera Company's education and outreach program.
As a collaborative musician, Adam has worked with singer Cat Bent, singer/actress Sedina Fiati and with singer/songwriter Sarah Teitel. He can be seen Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays accompanying female impersonator Roxxie Terrain in her Broadway cabaret at Zipperz Piano Bar.
